My Boudoir Life

What People Wonder

The questions people ask before they show their notes. If yours is not here, write to us — a person answers.

Does It Cost Anything To Create A Boudoir?

No. Your annual membership covers everything — joining any Boudoir, starting as many as you like, writing to anybody. Nobody pays to host, and nobody is ever charged between you.

What Is A Boudoir?

The thing you would cross town for, put up by somebody who loves it and found by the people who love it too. A boudoir, a club, a class, an outing, a table, a circle — chess at seven, a dawn swim, a recipe table with five countries at it. If you can dream it, you can create it here.

What Does It Cost?

One membership, one price, every three months. It is on the front page in plain sight, and it renews on the same day every three months unless you stop it — which you can from My Boudoirs, kindly and in one press.

Can I Look Before I Join?

Every Boudoir is open to read. To join one, start one, or write to somebody, you are a member.

Can I Join More Than One?

As many as you like. Host three, join nine. Everyone has their own palette.

What If There Is No Room?

Some Boudoirs have seats and they fill. Why not start your own? If you are thinking about it, somebody else is too.

Can A Host Say No To Me?

Yes. A host may set their Boudoir to ask me first, and may ask anybody to leave. It is their Boudoir, run their way. Nobody is told why, and there are hundreds of others.

Who Sees Where I Live?

Nobody. We ask for a postcode, so Near You means near you, and never an address. A Boudoir that meets in one place keeps its address for the members of that Boudoir alone.

Can I Host With Somebody?

Yes. A host names a co-host from the members — and any member can offer, with one tick. If the host ever steps away, the Boudoir is the co-host’s to carry on.

Is It Only Australia?

Near you, across Australia, or from anywhere on earth. A Boudoir that meets online can hold people in five countries at once.

How Old Do I Have To Be?

Eighteen or over.

What Do You Expect Of Me?

Respect. Communication. Privacy. Confidentiality. And joy — it is the whole point. Her Rules says it properly.
